Toasted Pixel Presents:
Meetings Were Missed

We love Netflix, and use it all the time. And we cannot express how grateful we are to Netflix for inventing a Rambo movie we can't wait to see. By now, we're all familiar with Sylvester Stallone's version of the fourth Rambo film, where he goes to Burma armed with almost nothing more than his bow and arrow, to rescue aid worker Sarah (played by Julie Benz) from Burmese terrorists. However, Netflix has decided to give it a few changes to make it a little more interesting.

The official Netflix description of Rambo IV is as follows:

After living a relatively normal life for the past 15 years, Vietnam vet John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is recalled to duty to lead the next generation of soldiers in a high-tech rescue mission. But this time it's personal: His 10-year-old daughter is being held hostage by white supremacists. And for all their youthful virility and advanced arsenal of weapons, Stallone's co-stars still have a few lessons to learn from this old-school warrior.

Now this IS interesting. We can't wait to see Rambo go high tech! And there may have to be a couple more Rambo films before this one in order to explain how a group of white supremacists decided to set up base in Burma. Perhaps that's a mistake, though, and this new Rambo film takes place in the rain forests of America instead of Burma. However, if it turns out this does take place in America, we'll still need a little backstory on why a 61-year-old man would be recalled to army service for a criminal kidnapping case taking place in the US.

Also interesting is the choice of cast. Apparently, Rambo's daughter will be played by Milo Ventimiglia, one of the brother characters on the TV show Heroes. Ok, now sure sure, maybe he'll just play someone else in the film, and maybe Rambo's Julie Benz will play the daughter here instead. In which case, the movie will pull a rare 90210 out of its hat as 35-year-old Benz portrays a 10-year-old girl.

But it's the advanced, high tech arsenal that the young rapscallions under Rambo's command use that we're interested in. Rambo has used almost every type of gun, explosive timer device, and helicopter in the modern world, but none of it would be classified as high tech. Who knows which type of futuristic arsenal of lasers and robots will be humbled by Rambo's still with mere guns and vehicles.
