Evil Breed: The Legend of Samhain DVD Review

Evil Breed is a horror movie about Scottish mutant cannibals, starring Richard Grieco and Jenna Jameson.

You heard me.

Actually, although he headlines the film, to say that Richard Grieco "stars" in the movie is a bit misleading. This is Richard Grieco's entire contribution to the film:

"Oh well, this is still more dignifying than Booker."

The plot of the movie is as follows: an American teacher takes a group of high school kids to study cannibalism in the Scottish territory specifically famous for its inbred mutated Scottish cannibal monsters. Things go awry.

Shrug.

Surprisingly, a large part of the story concentrates on two of the high school characters who try to find a connection with each other, coming from completely different backgrounds and points of view. Here they are finally spending time to find each other's more sensitive and understanding sides.

And then they yell at each other in the shower.

"Oh well, this is still more dignifying than being on Booker."

Interesting thing is that this guy's probably the closest thing the movie has to a male hero. He eventually gets kidnapped by the mutant cannibals, but he escapes from their subterranean prison by walking out of it (why not) and hides behind wooden planks just in time to see the cannibals kidnap another victim.

Now, as the male hero, he WOULD rescue her, unless he has more important priorities to attend to. See the video below to discover which he chooses.

"You can be killed or see my chest. Think carefully."

So yes, he successfully gets dressed, although she dies. That's Jenna Jameson, the victim, by the way.

We actually cut that video above right before the mutant kills Jenna and tries to eat her breast implant.

Which takes a while, because he can't. It's a breast implant, you see. But I guess it's a plot point to the motion picture because the scene shows him trying for quite a while.

It may seem like the cannibals are quite busy and have their hands full with these people. But the truth is, with affable victims like these, fight scenes were quite unnecessary.

Thankfully, one of the kidnapped students reaches the boiling point, and fights back against the monsters in a blood rage fueled by thoughts of all her departed friends. Seems reasonable.

Out of context, this clip seems to make sense. Stay tuned.

Reasonable, of course, before you realize that she actually killed that guy in her flashback. But hey, when did anyone ever take responsibility for the people they stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife they found in a monster's lair in Scotland?

Possibly the most interesting part of the movie is how the mutants try to kill their victims. For monsters and cannibals, they seem to be very inefficient at figuring out the most fatal areas to attack on people. Here's one attack. You may be wondering which part of the victim the monster is violating.

We're going to apologize now and hope you don't hold this movie against us. We're very sorry.
