As outlined in this article about reasonable job offers, the European Space Agency is calling for volunteers who want to volunteer to be confined in a box for 17 months. The "isolation and confinement studies" will put people, clearly normal people who will be great candidates to simulate astronaut minds, who want this job into locked rooms in Moscow, separated from the world. If the Europeans' tests like these accurately reflect people they shoot into space, aliens will think us a little nutty perhaps when encounter our astronauts.
