The Characters:

Simon:
You know that feeling, when everyone in the room is thinking of a question, but no one asks it? And then someone does ask, and you realize why no one did before? Well, Simon's the inquisitive fellow. He's probably this way because he spent more of his time in front of 15" monitors growing up than with his peers. That just suits him fine, however, since his slanty eyes marked him with a particular disease that made others fear him in his formative years. The smug attitude he developed in response to this upbringing can easily backfire on him, of course. Kat's just the right person to pull that trigger, too.

Kat:
Kat's not the biggest gamer, but she understands the life, due to her upbringing as a pretty creative and quirky person who's proud of her roots. Growing up, she soon found she was one of the only people she knew who was pretty creative, quirky, and proud of her intellectual roots. This made her feel kind of lonely at times, but it also gave her a rare form of pride. She's the best foil for Simon.

Derek:
Don't let him fool ya. He's actually a liberal-minded North Asian and South Asian mix. But he'll say almost anything to get a rise out of someone who's ticking him off. Derek and Simon knew each other growing up, the only minorities in their neighborhood, and thus they both understand the necessity of thick skin. They also feel the need to inflict this necessity upon others.

Kris:
Actual quote (by the real life Kris)! Derek's girlfriend, Kris, is actually quite geeky and Internet-savvy. Her statement comes from a love of taunting people and destroying their self-images. This is a sadistic pleasure she enjoys even more than Derek does. That's why he loves her.

Kareet:
As a crate from a videogame, Kareet has seen the best and worst that humanity has to offer. He was created to serve man in times of dire need by holding the most valuable items that man can use to save himself. But he found most humans couldn't figure out how to jump on him just right to reach the ventilation shaft above and finish the board. That was pretty frustrating to watch, so he gave up on humanity and watches a lot of anime on the Cartoon Network now. Adult Swim rules.

Darnell:
Darnell doesn't appreciate it too much when others automatically push certain roles onto him. Assuming he'll feel more at home if you call him "Brother" is kind of a mistake. As a psychiatrist, he can understand why people might do this, but that won't stop him from beating you down with a hammer if you ask how the pimping business is doing these days.
